Do you like surfing the web but hate the ads? Do you like New Media art? Then Steve Lambert and Evan Harper of Eyebeam OpenLab are working on a Firefox extension for you! AddArt is based on adblocking software. Rather than just removing the ads, however, AddArt seeks to replace them with works of art from a curated database. Put to the right use, it seems like a great way to get a new artist’s work seen. If not that, at least it’s a quick way to browse the art scene. Unfortunately they’re still looking to funding to get the project past the beta stage.
