Life Support Systems- Vanda is a project by Mateusz Herczka, an artist who’s main interest is in bioscience and artificial intelligence research. This particular project uses electrical signals from an orchid which are then translated by means of a hacked Xbox. The orchid’s “memories” are stored and used to create a virtual organism, able to mimic the plants behavior, even after the plant has died. This project may be the beginning of virtual immortality. This artificial intelligence may be able to be used to immortalize family and friends in the future, creepy as that may be.
