Non Stick Chewing Gun

UK scientists have supposedly been able to produce a gum that is no sticky… or at least less sticky then the gums we chew now. If the gum passes the European health and safety test it could be in stores by next year. Revolymer says that its product is easier to remove from pavements, shoes and carpets. Since gum cleanup can be costly and a hassle, scientists have been researching how to solve this problem for quite some time now. Now Revolymer, a Bristol University spin-out company, claims that it has created a new material which can be added to gum that makes it much easier to remove from surfaces. The material is formed from long chains of molecules, called polymers, which have both water-loving (hydrophilic) and oil-loving (hydrophobic) properties. Testers said it tasted and had texture comparable to gum in stores now. If this gets passed it could really changed things for gum companies, the consumers and the people dishing out money to clean up sticky gum all over the place. I think its a great idea.
