So I am a huge music lover. My very first “love” was a DJ, so maybe that’s why I love that particular skill! So this artist decided to mix his DJing with his VJing. VScratch provides a visual transcription of every single element used while scratching records-variations of speed, volume, and audio spectrum. Additionally, there is an optical mouse set on paper that is placed in the middle of the record which transmits the physical act of spinning the record back and forth.
Basically, all this provides for the visual counterparts to the act of scratching. Every move on the turntable is transformed into a matching visual composition, thus bridging the gap between the audio and visual. Besides, these two elements should go hand in hand more often, especially when it’s the DJ affecting/creating the visuals as well as the audio.
