Sachiko Kodama’s pieces work with ferrofluid and a computer controlling system to modify magnetic fields, which direct the ferrofluid. Ferrofluid (“iron fluid”) is a mixture of magnetic particles suspended in oil, which react to magnetic fields.

Kodama studied Physics, Plastic Art, Mixed Media, Computer and Holographical Art. She is currently an associate professor at the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo.
