The new exhibition at net.culture.space in Vienna’s Museumsquartier focuses on human-computer interaction. Intuitive interfaces replace the mouse and keyboard with the human body and its five senses. The big new thing among game developers is: “We bring your body in!” But media artists are already taking this to the next level and utilizing thoughts and feelings to control interactive applications. Now, visitors to net.culture.space can check out what this is all about! “Brainball” players use their brainwaves to move a ball across a table, but instead of agility and speed, maintaining composure is the key to success here. “Colors” is an Internet project that filters manifestations of feelings out of thousands of blogs and then uses this data as the basis of a visualization of the “emotional state” of our world.
I chose this one because it’s intresting how with brain waves you can control something as simple as a ball. you never know maybe one day we will be able to control driving a car by just thinking about were we want to go. I just find it fascinating how technology grows every day.
