Hitachi-Maxell plans to unveil their newest creation- a 300gb removable storage media in the form of a cd, albiet a little thicker.  The newest creation in the wave of removable media, just one of their cds can make most harddrives obsolete, making a future where nothing will be saved to your desktop anymore, and you can carry your entire lifes information on a small card, which they actually have.  See citizen identification cards.
