Researchers develop a 360-degree holographic display

The year 2000 came and went and we still do not have flying cars, jet packs, or robotic butlers. But we are slowly taking small steps towards the cool aspects of sci-fi technology. Researches from USC have created a 3-D holographic display. Created by spinning a mirror covered with a “holographic diffuser,” a special DVI implementation, and a high-speed projector, researchers are able to create a 3-D image that can be viewed from anywhere in the room. It may not be exactly how we imaged a holographic device would work, it does get the concept completed and shows that we are headed in the right direction in creating technology once only imagined.
