Software engineer Jaterndijit Singh created a simple robot out of Lego Technics parts, a cheap micro controller, and an infrared interface, then attached a cellphone to it that could control the the little robot’s arms and wheels via an IR link. The robot is called Temo (telephone operated mobile internet robot) and can be controlled from pretty much anywhere in the world that there is a cellphone network coverage. By using a web server and graphical interface installed on the phone, Temo also sends images from the phones camera back via the web link to the controller device so that you can see what it is doing. Singh states that hopefully video will be running soon.
