This is a performance piece by Brody Condon, based off the 1973 piece by Bruce Nauman titled “Tony Sinking to the Floor, Face Up and Face Down.” This work is inspired by the body movement in video/computer games when a character is killed. The actors are outfitted in medieval/fantasy armor and mimic the animated death scenes in slow motion.
I thought this piece was rather refreshing simply because it is based on humans acting as electronic or artificial entities rather than technology attempting to portray more biological qualities.
