ok, so I know that wikipedia isn’t necessarily the best place to get completely factual information, but for this topic it seems to be the best way of getting any information about it since the group, “Anonymous” doesn’t seem to have an official web site or anything.

basically, an anonymous internet group has been using hacktivism to take a harsh stand against scientology on the internet. they successfully took down an entire scientology website on january 18th, 2008. they made it so if you search “dangerous cult” on google, the church of scientology’s main web page is the first result.

they have actually begun having protests in the real world as well, opposed to just on the internet.

the group even plans to have members pose as people interested in becoming scientologists in order to infiltrate the church.

there is a lot more information on the wikipedia page, with lots of references to news websites and blogs talking about what this group has been doing.
