I have a strange fascination with clocks, perhaps because I feel like they run my life, or maybe because the analog mechanism amazes me. Nevertheless, I have posted about a clock once before once again a clock has caught my attention.
Designed by Alvin Aronson , a Furniture Design student at RISD, is an analog clock that mimics the appearance of a digital clock. This video shows the elegant cross fade as the time changes. Even more breathtaking is the smooth white finish allowing shadows to outline the numbers increasing the depth of the clock. The mimicking of an LED clock with physical elements is an interesting play on the rise of digital technology over analog and is also effective as a charming furniture piece.
