The New, Fast Electric Car from Tesla Motors

Environmental issues are something I’ve always been interested in since the beginning of high school. Back then, the idea of an electric car would have been a joke. No electric car built during that time was fast or practical. It wasn’t until senior year when I heard of the Tesla Roadster did I have any hope for electric cars being the future of driving. It’s much more efficient than any gasoline-powered car. It travels 220 miles without needing to be recharged and has a regenerative braking system which stores energy that is usually lost when braking. The car travels from 0-60 in under 4 seconds! It release no carbon emissions and has a unique Lithium ion battery pack that is owned by Tesla Motors. This battery will give at least 100,000 of peak performance before starting to slowly decrease.

We talked about how the Responsive Arts Class isn’t quite environmentally-friendly but Tesla Motors has managed to turn vehicles that are supposed to emit greenhouse gases to a vehicle that leaves no carbon footprint. This car is an ideal mode of transportation for the future.
