You know those wonderful moments when the technology gods decide they have it out for you, and all you want to do is throw your computer across the room, smash your cell phone, or smack your television? Well, Mark Hauenstein is here for us all with a product that lets you express those frustrations. He has created the OiTV.
The OiTV is a television set that seems to have a mind all its own. While enjoying your selected program, the OiTV will decide to behave very badly. The image on the screen may decide that it would rather move around, turn upside down, play another broadcast, or fast forward or rewind your selected program. However, never fear, this television just wants your attention and to be your friend (of some sort). It will start getting out of control when you haven’t interracted with it in awhile. To control the TV there are many options available to you. Such as: stroking it to calm it down, smacking it to “control” it, twisting the attenae, or lifting it from the sides to fix the image. By experimenting different methods of controlling the OiTV, you form some sort of a relationship with it. Your relationship gets stronger as the TV adapts to your reactions.
While satisfying one’s desire (or maybe I’m the only one) to smack electronics, Hauenstein is making the OiTV user into a active television veiwer. There are no couch potatoes here.
