Markus Lerner created these seven towers with over 110,000 LED’s each. The towers collect traffic data in Munich, Germany, and use wave patterns to depict the corresponding traffic situations in the area. As traffic increases, the waves at the bottom of the panels get larger and increase in speed. There is also a spark which travels across the screen for each individual car that passes by.

I think this will be a useful innovation if they are installed in other places around the world. The towers display real time traffic data which would be more useful than radio traffic reports which could be inaccurate by the time a driver gets to a particular area.
