Autonomous Light Air Vessels

Jed Berk‘s ALAVs are shaped like small blimps and interact with objects, humans, and each other. The ALAVs are programmed with an Interactive Voice Recognition system so that humans can speak to the ALAVs via cell phone. ALAVs are programmed to ask questions and respond accordingly, depending on the answer. Responses involve altitude, light, and noise activity, all of which are regulated by a “happiness factor”. The happiness factor adjusts after the interaction the group or an individual ALAV has with a human and it affects the entire group.

The best video I found of the ALAVs in action can be seen by following the title link, going to the Videos section, and selecting the first video under “System Overview”.
