Exploring the World from Microsoft and Flickr.com

This is a collaborative photo project from Flickr.com that really caught my eye. The clip above begins with talking about how photos these days can be made into extremely high resolutions to do ridiculous things, like putting a chapter per column and make an entire book a single photo. One of the pictures he references is 300 megapixels!

The second part he talks is the most interesting because it’s an online collective photo project. People upload their photos of places and objects in places and put labels on the pictures referring to where the photo was taken. Someone working for Flickr will then put a mark on a global map from the website and then anyone who views the global map and see points of interest. Photo integrated technology is getting really crazy and cool.
