Most designers know that most of the materials and products that we casually enjoy as life convenience were first used in some military application or other. Here is another example of something that is quite revolutionary but could become mainstream in the next 5-10 years. It’s an exoskeleton much like that of insects in that a person can wear it and, while only minimally burdened by its weight, carry a great deal of materials without any strain on the body. While there are plans for it to be covered in a way that will make the wearer look like a Halo character, and used in military applications, it could also be useful for restoring normal functioning to the physically impared. Soon we could all be cyborgs. Awsome?……
