James Clar, an interactive lighting designer, is developing an LED mesh structure that will eventually be installed on a hotel in Barcelona, Spain. During the day, individual nodes within the mesh collect and read sunlight amplitude. At night, the structure processes the light collected by the nodes to emit different color patterns with numerous LEDs. Essentially, the mesh will express even more drastic changes with the changing of the weather and seasons. The mesh appears transparent so the underlying building form will be accentuated by the light istead of hidden by it.
