Neo-Human Evolution (Concept from the movie Waking Life)

Immediately while reading the paper about posthumanism, I thought about the relatively unknown concept of the Neo-Humans. I was reminded about the time scales of the human population. It took two billion years for evolution of life on Earth, six million for the hominid, a hundred thousand years for mankind as we know it. So already we can see the telescoping nature of evolution. Then, when you look at the agricultural revolution, scientific revolution, and industrial revolution, you’re seeing ten thousand years, four hundred years, and one hundred and fifty years. So here you’re seeing the further telescoping of the evolutionary time.

Now what will happen is when we go through the new evolution, we should be able to witness evolution within a lifetime, then a generation. As every cycle of evolution proceeds, we tack new intelligence from the new cycle onto all the past intelligence, new skills onto past skills. The speed of each evolutionary cycle will become exponential. We’ll reach the point where we’ll receive sudden and instantaneous fulfillment. Now wouldn’t that be interesting?
