Scientists developing a “Symbiote” implant for thought

This symbiote, developed by the University of Florida scientists is a computer implant that can think, learn, interpret, and make decisions on its own in order to work with the host to accomplish a common goal most economically. The implant works through tiny electrodes which capture thought signals , and very involved algorithms which interpret these though signals, to adapt and change to solve problems. After several successful tests with rats, these computers offer scary results that imply that this technology is not too far fetched. This is definitely a venue that extends the capabilities of humans to a new level like the “…intelligence embodied in cybernetic machines” Hayles was referring to in Posthuman.
