Steve Zieverink founded the Unit 2 Art Collective, is in the graduate program here at UIC, and is my teacher for Introduction to Time-Based Arts. 12 + 12 is an interactive piece that depicts the mathematical relations between sound and light wave frequencies. Viewers can “play” the piece by pressing buttons which correlate with the different color blocks, which light up and play notes in response. Multiple buttons can be pressed simultaneously.

Zieverink has another project, In a Perfect World, which uses similar relationships in the form of a board game, and it uses live singers.
