Younghui Kim is an New York-based interactive designer. Her Stir It On! project features a skirt that reacts to touch, so that if someone bumps into the wearer, subtle light patterns will be emitted from it.
Kim explains that the glow emitted from the skirt can be interpreted as either a warning to back off, or as an invite welcoming more touch.
Stir It On! was inspired by sea organisms called dinoflagellates (pictured below), which glow when they are stirred up.
