Wooden Model of a 3D MRI Scan
Neil Fraser, a software engineer at google, took 9 cross sections from a MRI scan and glued them to wooden blocks to create a 3d representative model. In the end is a collection of 60, 1 inch cubes, which have 266 internal faces which feature a sqaure slice of the MRI image. He used third dimension to explore 3d data.
I believe that the blocks are a new way to have interactive sculptures. It is like a special project, like a puzzle, that needs to be put together to show the 3d image. It also will help in the medical field see MRI’s in a different perspective.
