This garment, called Watashi-Chan, by Tomoko Ueyama is covered with balloons that inflate when sound is detected around the wearer. The interesting part is that they can even be sounds that the wearer cannot hear. Once a frequency is detected, one of six electromagnetic valves open to allow air into the balloons depending on the quantity of the signal that is detected. Once they are inflated, the air is released to prevent the balloon from popping.
