Limpit Shell Switches

on

This video is much simpler than most of what we’ve looked at and posted here, but it’s still pretty interesting and innovative. I know I always collected seashells from the beach when I was little [my old roommates even had a big pile of them on the windowsill still], but I never had anything to do with them. The shells in the video have push sensors in them that cause them to light up with an LED or vibrate when one pushes down on them. The switch is concealed in the small shell, so it appears normal. I’m not exactly sure how useful lighting up or vibrating makes them, but it at least makes them a little more interesting. Plus, it takes the first step into incorporating them into a more complex project.
