Technology

Although loading this video was
difficult, I understood the Jest of the video. Watching the beginning about
what it meant to cheat, share, and copyright was interesting. I do remember
being in school and putting up folders so others would not copy off my paper.
After viewing what Texas tells their student I found it a little disturbing.
How do they expect them to excel? On the first day of every class teachers say
“buddy up with someone in class you have to miss class!” do the professors post
the video for the class for their student’s later viewing? Since it is so
different, I found the copyright law for Texas very strange.
            Something
that I liked and found interesting was the open art network. I think it is
great that artist have a larger community to share ideas and give feed back. I
know that photographers have many different websites to do this, so it is
refreshing to know that many other artist of different genres are now doing the
same.
At the same time I think it is
interesting how he placed education as a place where technology is not welcome.
It has been my experience as a former education major that teachers do not
welcome  cells phones for obvious reasons
but welcome any and all forms of technology that will allow students to grow a
thirst for knowledge. However when I say “in my experience” I mean that I’ve
only worked with early childhood education, and in a few Chicago schools. My experiences
may not be the case in other places in the U.S.
