One of the artists who stood out to me in this passage was Roy Lichtenstein. While it is not a New Media artist, he is defined as a “pop artist”. His work utilizes comic strips, manipulating them to a more emphasized effect. In the picture below, Lichtenstein uses bright colors in order to offset the original comic. The comic which was previously simple and used as a supplement to the words, but with the addition of the extra colors and dots, is created into a bold, striking piece.
An artist duo (who works with technological aspects) consists of Jon Thomson and Alison Craighead. Together, they utilize different types of technological innovations and create a product consisting of various forms. The piece which is a live portrait of Tim Berners-Lee uses different cameras on opposite sides of the world, recording every sixty seconds as the earth rotates.
