Project Proposal
For my final
project I will use the idea I had for my first project, but add other features
to it. I am going to use snap beads as casing for a ball bearing light switch.
I will cut the snap beads in half, add foil and a light switch to one half,
while leaving the other half clear. For the sake of the project, I will then
use Velcro to stick the two pieces back together. The half that will be clear will be the part
that will have the knob. This will be used to stick in a board so that the snap
bead lights will have a way to turn off.

Something I haven’t full thought through is
the sound the board will make when the snap bead light is stuck in to it. I was
going to hack a leapfrog toy, however I was not sure which one will work, and
which will be hack-able. Another concern I am having is how to hook up the
battery to the light. However, I know I will have to use a small battery to fit
into the snap bead.

After everything is put together I am going
to connect all the snap bead lights, and photograph them at various shutter
speeds and with the bulb feature. The bulb feature on the camera allows the
photographer to leave the shutter open for longer than thirty seconds. After
thirty seconds, I will take seven more pictures, each leaving the shutter open
for addition 10 seconds. This part of my project will allow me to use the
project in my spring portfolio.
