My Creative Switch Project is the “Light Up Solo Cup”. This is the second version of my project, I cleaned up from my original version. Very simple circuit with an easy concept of using a conductive material like aluminum as well as water to complete a circuit and switch on a couple LEDs. The set up for the switch goes like this:
1. Take one stripped copper wire and wrap it in a cloth.
2. In the same cloth take a separate stripped copper wire, attach aluminum foil to the exposed copper wire, cover in salt, and finish wrapping in the cloth.
3. Take a smaller piece of cloth and wrap the entire switch. Then tape the cloth together.
4. Your switch is made! Now just attach one wire to the positive end of the LED, The negative end of the LED taped to the negative end of the battery. The other free wire from your switch will connect to the positive end of the battery.
5. Drop the switch into a cup and pour in your favorite beverage, now your cup glows.
The light remains on until the switch dries, this takes a couple days. An alternate method would be to use a battery pack that can disconnect.
