Being an auto enthusiast, I thought it would make sense to make a moving car. But being an avid Lego user, I have always wanted to make a moving Lego car that can move on its own. I thought Legos would be a good source for designing the frame of the vehicle. Legos are versatile and its many shapes and sizes will make it easier to accommodate almost any electric parts. And besides all the parts that come with the Arduino kit, I should still consider getting a stronger DC motor.
The required materials:
Arduino Uno – In possession
9 volt battery – In possession
Legos (Wheels, gear wheels, bricks, rods) – In possession
Resistors, diodes, wires, transmitters, capacitors – In possession
DC motor – In possession. (Or Fry’s Electronics or American Science and Surplus)
Here’s a simple sketch of how my car will look like:
With a worm gear, I can use even less moving parts, but I would have to find a way to make a frame so the worm gear doesn’t come off.
