For this project I decided to create a machine that is responsive to the environment around it. This machine will draw based on two things. One is on the sounds level in the room, it will also draw based on the distance of a person to the machine. The machine will draw on a continuous piece of paper that will move under the drawing utensils, for now they will be markers. The piece of paper will move in one direction while the markers will only be able to move in an adjacent direction so as to draw waves with properties of a sinusoidal wave. What I mean by this is that the waves will be repetitive and continuous. 

The machine will consist of a long spool of paper unrolling on one side, this will be controlled by a servo motor. The markers will be placed on a a device that will hold it in place and move left and right. The speed and amplitude of the wave being drawn will depend on, for one marker, the sound levels in the room, and for the other marker the distance someone is to the machine. This way as someone gets closer to the machine, the machine will draw faster and faster showing how the machine is getting nervous/scared.
