Raphael Lozano-Hemmer is electronic artist who was born in
Mexico. He makes large interactive instillations that have gained him attention
and awards. His works range in medium but all embrace new technology. For
example, his latest work, Sphere Packing,
incorporates 3d printing into his technique. Most of his pieces allow the
viewers to interact with the work in order to engage them into the ideas and
techniques applied to every piece. His works in a cause and effect type fashion
when it comes to his instillations. Viewers must do something in order for the
instillation to react. This allow the piece not only to work as a work of art
but also an experience for the viewers.
