For this project you will need:
1 9 volt battery
Flat Leds
Clip leads
Fabric that you can wrap around yourself twice
Tape or conductive thread
Conductive fabric
1. First fold the fabric in the way that is depicted in the picture.
2. Put the left flap of the fabric under the right flap, fold the excess under the right side, and position the fabric so that the left flap is on the front. Then attach the conductive fabric under this flap like so. Your base
fabric should be able to cover this conductive fabric.
3. Next attach your second strip of conductive fabric on the from side of the flap.
Make sure that the flap does not adhere to the base of the skirt that has the first piece of fabric attached on it.
4. Now get your flat LEDs ready. Be sure to identify the anode and cathode.
5. Attach LEDS to front Flap. Position so that the anode is laying flat on top of the conductive fabric. The cathode should be on the opposite end connect by what ever adhesive or attacher you use. Be sure that the end of your cathode is visible for a good connection.
6. Next identify your ground and power. Clip in your power to the flap with the LED’s on it.
7. Now test your connections! The end result should be lights that flicker on and off based on movement. For a more permanate LED light up skirt, purchase flat lithium rechargeable batteries , conductive thread and flat LED’s!
