For this project I decided to make 2 leds turn on when I step on my longboard.
Supplies
-LEDs x2
-Copper Tape
-8 inches of wire
-1.5v Disk Battery x2
-Clear Housing for Battery/LEDs
-A way to attach housing to trucks
-Sick Board Man
Step 1: Don’t talk about fight club.
Step 2: Find Two bolts on your board you would like to run the current through.
Step 3: Take one of those screws out of the board. Rap the the lower part of the bolt with electrical tape and stick it back through the board. You can then cut of the extra on the bolt. Place more electrical tape around the bolt on the truck before you tighten the nut back on to the bolt.
Step 4: After you have insulated one of the bolts, you can set up the LED in the housing. Hot glue one end of the LEDs to the batteries, and solder a 4” wire to the other end of the LEDs. Then hot glue another 4” wire to the other side of the battery.
Step 5: Attach the LED assembly to the truck, and wrap the wires around the bolts. Soldering the wires on the bolts is a good idea but I’d like to be able to take my light off if I felt like it so I didn’t. Instead I wrapped a striped wire around the bolt twice and hot glued the living hell out of it.
Step 6: SNACKS!
Step 7: Find where your shoe will be touching both bolts and add copper tape to that part of your shoe. You should now be able to press your foot on the screws and have the LEDs light up.
Step 8: Fun?!?!?!
