From the reading that was assigned to my class on Thursday, I believed that the reading more into how New Media arts is portrayed. In other words how it was back in the 60’s to the mid 90’s. New Media art has began to become complex due to the less interaction humans and technology have to do to function properly. Technology has expanded into a mind of its on. Most likely do not need anyone to turn it on by the next year to come. The author gives examples of winners of the Golden Nica award in 2003 and 2004 and how they used technology to make their creations different or similar to those in the past. The author also mentions the use of Japanese Siamese fish that were controlling a laser to move around; however, it can not do “old school” performances like a group of professional actors who could make a image appear on the screen. Another thing that interested me in the reading was a computer made completely out of wood! Wow! I want to try that one day. Not today, but one day. The reading was quite long, but very informative of why New Media Arts is dying and how it was prosperous in the mid twentieth century to the mid of the twenty-first century.
