After exploring the distractions caused by cellphones I decided I wanted to make somewhat of a cellphone shaped object to house my Arduino and vibrating motor. Before, I hid the mechanism in a hollowed out book, however I felt there was too much disconnect between the sound of the vibrations and where they were coming from. Now I have hidden the Arduino inside a phone shaped form made of foam. To my surprise the foam actually amplifies the sound of the vibration a lot better than the book did. I also coded two vibrating sequences which are activated by a remote, the first one simulates the pulsing vibrations of receiving a call. The second is designed to sound like a phone receiving a text message. Although there were a few difficulties in carving the forum (excuse the masking tape) I feel that this model effectively simulates the vibrations a cellphone produces.
