The issues that stood out prominently for myself was the article’s inclusion of gamergate. Which it had began early on stating in the reading, collaborating facts on the initiatives to gamergate’s fabricated existence, while attempting to tie in the correlation of twine bringing the alternative type of developer in gaming. I found it interesting the article used the functionality of gamergate to describe twine’s programming environment to appeal or enlist and bring about an attraction to “unique” individual’s who may not be considered to possess personality traits of mainstream developers. As gamergate has had an unusually high negative aspect in many social media portrayals, it’s members have seemingly slowly declined in recent events and activities. However, it still holds to be quite controversial when spoken about publicly as most online communities will not allow conversations pertaining to it.
