John F. Simon Jr is multimedia artist and a software art pioneer. His daily drawings inspire his larger pieces of art. In 1999, Simon decided to start the practice of “Divination Drawings”. Basically it was a daily drawing that he would use to meditate. He let his pencil just be guided by the unconscious thought and then once it was finished, he looked at them as if they were an inkblot and basically told a story behind the finished picture. He continually does this everyday and posts his daily pictures on iclock.com. The story told after the finished piece is not posted up on his website but I think its more to inspire people and give them the opportunity to make up their own story. The image included is the daily drawing from 01.04.2017 called Coral Hula Ocean Goodbye.

Roy Lichtenstein is an American pop artist. In the 1960s Lichtenstein was recognized as a leading pop artist for comic books. Him, along with a few other artists started the beginning of the pop art movement. Lichtenstein did not just copy comic book images, but he would more use a cropping style in order to create a new image. In this image of Drowning Girl (1963), its original image comes from a woman who is standing over her boyfriend and crying. Lichtenstein condensed the text in the original comic strip to create the new piece.
