For my creative switch I chose to make a puzzle using a 9 volt battery and three red LEDs. I was able to find a small puzzle image on google and paste it to a piece 1/8″ thick wood I had lying around. I made an outline using an exacto knife and traced the outline with pencil. I originally was going to use a stroll saw to cut the pieces out but I was able to use the laser cutter in the lab, which worked out better than expected. After everything was cut I painted the puzzle black and drilled holes where I wanted the LEDs to fit. I chose to link the LEDs in a series to a 9 volt because it made the most sense with the amount of room I had to work with. I first tried copper tape to connect the circuit but didn’t have a solid connection through out. I then tried using just green wires, which I glued to the back of each puzzle piece and that didn’t work either. I ended up using tin foil and staples.
