Spinning LED Tower

Materials

1. (2) LED 
2. (4) 2 inch wire
3. (2) 4 inch wire
4. 5 inches of copper tape cut in half
5. various Bionical TM pieces 
6. Wire cutters and Strippers 
7. Tape
8. 3 volt battery  
9. 2.5in diameter paper circle
10. Solder

Instructions 

• Strip one end of every 2 inch wire piece  

• Solder the stripped end to the LED’s  as shown 

 

•  Tape the LEDs to the top Bionical piece with wires facing downward

• Using hot glue, glue the dangling wires to the lower level of Bionical pieces.Note: it is important to stagger the two wires slightly so that they are not on the same circular path. 

• Take the paper circle and place the the copper tape on the outer edges of the circle such that the now glues wires can reach them. Solder the remaining two wires to the backside of the copper wire. See below

• Assemble all pieces and check for any shorts or lose wires 

• Attach Battery at the bottom wires, when the top wires touch the copper tape the LED will light up.
