Creative Switch Project: Darryl McCord

I managed to create an led light flickering system, controlled by an infrared controller. A very simple project to have fun with.

1) Materials

  • 2 3V Coin Batteries w/ on/off
  • 3 LED bulbs
  • 1 Infrared sensor bulb
  • 1 Infrared light (or remote control)
  • 2 sewing needles
  • 2 jumper wire connectors
  • 3 jumper wires
  • 1 small breadboard
  • Cup, case, etc.
  • Scissors/Xacto-Knife
2) As shown in pictures below:

a.
Connect sewing needles from on/off switch, to breadboard.
b. Connect LED’s in a row, and jumper wire to board.
c. Connect infrared bulb to wire connectors, connecters to 2 wire jumpers, then jumpers to board.

3) As shown in pictures below:

a. Cut anything creative you want into outside of cup (whatever casing you’re using). Make sure to cut small hole at the top for the infrared bulb.

b. Feed infrared bulb through top. You can choose to tape or hot glue it down if you want.
c. Try it out with remote, and you should be good to go.
