MATERIALS NEEDED:

YOU WILL NEED

– A CD

-A roll of electrical tape

-Copper tape

-A battery

– 2 Alligator clips

-LED light bulbs

-copper fabric

-Something that has rotating parts, like gears. It should be small enough for the CD to fit on.  For this example I used an old computer hard drive.

STEP 1
add a small piece of copper fabric to either side of the CD. make sure it’s sticking out away from the edge of the CD.

STEP 2
place one led with either the positive or the negative leg on the fabric, take a small piece of copper tape, place it on and around the leg thats on the fabric. make sure the copper tape is touching both the fabric and the leg.

STEP 3
place the CD on the rotating part.

STEP 4
somewhere next to the  rotating part, away from the CD, place another piece of fabric and tape it down. make sure the fabric sticks out like it does on the CD.

STEP 5
get another LED and tape them together from the legs, make sure its + -, or -+, not two of the same.

STEP 6
Clips two alligator clips to the battery. one on the positive end, another on the negative
Then clip the negative/positive side to the fabric , and the positive/negative to the exposed LED leg, if it doesn’t light up try switching the clips.

STEP 7
move the CD to make contact with the fabric, if set up correctly it should shine brightly and look real pretty.
