In class, Ricky and I created two new categories. One was a collaborative category. We wanted it to be broad enough that people could enter different types of works. So we decided that the requirements should be pretty open. You can work with one other person or with a group of people to create a piece. The more we discussed what collaborative entailed, the more we realized just how broad the category can be. Instead of just having people collaborate, we could have two people who create separate pieces and the two pieces collaborate together. Or have one person create a few pieces that work in collaboration. We realized how we had to define exactly what we meant by collaborative, and in the end decided that the category should be only for people who work together to create one piece, since it was the most simple idea.
