Materials: Old Dictionary, Tape, Conductive Tape, Conductive Thread, Two Red Lights, & 6 Volt Battery, One Resistor, Aluminum Foil
My goal for this project was to have the book light up when its closed. From the beginning I wanted the design to be clean so I hid the battery pack in the bind. Then began to tie the conductive thread to the lights.

Once the lights, resistor and battery ends were connected, I taped over the messy threads in a border around the book.

I used foil tabs at the upper corners to create a connection that wouldn’t be taped over.

I taped around the border with non-conductive tape after realizing that the connection wouldn’t work if there wasn’t a necessary path and contact points where the power could flow.
After everything is done, I realized I probably didn’t need the conductive tape underneath the non-conductive tape. Initially I wasn’t going to use the thread at all and instead just use the tape, but the current didn’t run through because I had it bunched up in places. And this is the final product with working lights.
