Although there were many parts of this that were a little hard to understand, I think it’s cool that there are artists that use data to create art. I think because there are many different ways to represent data and different types of data we can have, it it sometimes difficult to understand or to “visualize.” I think data art is cool because it allows us to actually see the data in a different way than we are used to seeing it, or expect to see it. The last paragraph of the reading was the most interesting to me, especially “It involves a practical exploration of data’s potential uses and meaning; it literally offers us images, figures for data itself.” They are making data more visual, more tangible, which I appreciate as someone who is often deterred by lots of data.
