In the article “Art Against Information” by Mitchell Whitelaw it explains the difference between data and information. Even though both data and information are sort of similar they aren’t quite the same.Basically data is the raw material of information that collects facts for a reference. And information is the result of organizing data to add knowledge to the person who may read it. There was an couple of artworks that show how data is used as indexes to real life. The first one would be “The Dumpster” which uses data to breakdown a persons age, location, gender, and feeling. The other one which is called “We Feel Fine” by Jonathan Harris is basically comprised of data of millions of humans feelings.
