Interactive art has always been something that has caught my attention because of the power the user has on the medium. While reading the article I felt like the author just filled it to the brim with lots of information but it was personally pretty difficult to find any big meaning of the text relating to interactive art other than just some information of some of the projects. From what was said about the relation between the user and medium and how one ‘learns’ from the other. However, like mentioned previously it was difficult to find any other stance of the topic other than explaining how it worked.
Some interesting points I found while reading was when there was mention of video games, vending machines, strength testers, etc. What made this interesting was the comparison to interactive art, while they evoked the feeling of the experience of using machines in the working life they managed to catch the attention of people and give people the satisfaction. It’s interesting to see how interactive art began to spread and influence other things and the evolution it went through.
