Student Name: Cristian Barrera | Title (tentative): Co-op Vest (Prototype) | |
Project or Assignment Summary:
My original idea for this project was to do a wearable controller that would control something, preferably a game of some type. After looking at some of the capabilities of the LED matrix, I thought of doing a wearable with the LED matrix implemented on it. The finalized idea now is to have a vest with the LED matrix on the back which would display a game of Snake running on the Arduino. There would be a controller that connects to the back so someone could play the game, but I also plan to add ways for the wearer to interact with the game by adding analog input to the front of the vest which would alter the game. The main idea is to have an interesting dynamic where the wearable does not just interact with the person wearing it but more so with the people around. The final vest is going to be decorated with naturalistic foliage that would reference real life snakes. |

Planning Stage: List objectives. Assign Deadlines
(Aka Checkpoints) to each of the production stages.
Draft Snake Code – 3.18
Sketch and plan the wiring on the vest – 3.19
Test input and game on LED matrix – 3.21
Add the components on the vest – 3.22
Decorate the back – 3.24 |
Resources you need but don’t yet have:
LED Matrix Vest Sewing equipment Decorative materials Paint (?)

Skills or Techniques you will use and / or explore. Clarify which still need to be acquired.
LED Matrix based coding (Need to explore) Sewing (Explore conductive thread) Wiring and Soldering 3D printing (explore for some decorative parts)

Define your audience. Who will be viewing (and/ or interacting with) this? (Do not say ‘anyone’):
I would say that anyone interested in video games would be the ideal target audience since I think that the screen and controller would interest them |
