Hello everyone. I wanted to show this video because it demonstrate how music artist are using new forms of art and media in Latin America. The name of the collective performing in the video below is Nortec. Nortec, utilizes samples from Mexican traditional music, more specifically from Nortenas, which is music from the north of mexico. The visuals used by Nortec respond to the rythm of the music and help to further engage their public with the performance. Additionally, the visuals that form part of Nortec’s performances often talk about the sociopolitical situation of Mexico.
